Ikuntji or Haasts Bluff is nestled within the spectacular West MacDonnell Ranges, approximately 250km south-west of Alice Springs. To the north is Ulampawarru (Mt Edward) and Anyali (Mt William), and to the south is the stunning Mereenie Bluff. The community is a 3 hour drive, or 45 minute flight, from Alice Springs and has a great Aboriginal Arts Centre and a community shop that will gladly refuel both yourself and your vehicle.
There are two access routes to Ikuntji. The first is via the Tanami Highway. The alternative route is on the sealed road directly west of Alice Springs on Namatjira Drive to Glen Helen. Then there is another 110 km of unsealed road which continues west to Ikuntji. This road can be impassable in heavy rain but has an amazing approach directly to Memory Mountain where the cross is to be built. If you're considering a visit contact us for more information.
