The Creative Technologies Centre
Walk a While Foundation believes in the power of the creative arts to bring people together and break down cultural barriers. Our Creative Technologies Centre is the first step in making this vision a reality.
At Walk a While Foundation, we strive to empower and connect Indigenous communities through the creative arts. Our first step towards this is the Creative Arts & Technologies Centre – a purpose built facility that provides Indigenous people with resources and invaluable skills for future employment. This includes training in photography, cinematography, music, website development, design and providing skills for leadership roles in tourism and hospitality.
Through experiential learning programs, we invest in these communities' by delivering experiential learning programs for new employment opportunities within their own region. Finding employment in roles such as tour guides, drivers, customer service officer, administration roles event management or film production positions, can create lasting impacts in their lives. Helping Indigenous people create sustainable enterprises, and opening up markets for them, will help create economic stability and enable them to become active members of society - not just today but into the future too!
We also believe it’s important to bridge cultural divides by regularly visiting remote areas such as Haasts Bluff (230km west of Alice Springs) where cultural exchanges can take place between Indigenous people, urban youth and non-indigenous communities alike.
Let’s come together to create meaningful change through education – one step at a time! Sign up today for news updates on Walk a While projects as well as other inspiring stories from remote communities!
